The Sedona Women 2009 Membership Survey

The Board would like to thank all the members who participated in our 2009 Membership Survey.  We had 100 of you respond to our survey and your feedback is extremely important to us! The Sedona Women, Dames Who Make a Difference is an organization that continues to evolve and the information and feedback from the survey provides a very important planning tool for the Board.

We wanted to share the results with you and below are some of our observations and action plans based on the 2009 survey. You will also find a link to the more detailed survey results document. If you have any questions please contact Gail Moore gamoore@esedona.net

2009 Survey Results Action Plan

·         Board terms, many members expressed concern that the 3 year term is too long of a commitment.

o   We have adjusted the bylaws to allow returning Board Members to serve a single year

o   We have reduced the new Board Member term from 3 to 2 years with the option to serve three terms for a total of 6 years

·         A Day Just for Me is increasingly popular.

o   We have benefited from keeping the cost of the day down.  Using the talents of TSW members as ADJFM leaders has been successful!

·         Members prefer day trips or one overnight (most likely because of the economy and related price).

o   These trips continue to be successful so we will focus on day trips and single overnight trips.

·         What can TSW do to better meet your expectations?

o   There is an interest in continuing to support local non profits

§  We have added our Public Service Announcment page.

·         Most of our members have been with us for more than 3 years so we need to attract new residents as members.

o   We created a new TSW brochure that is now available at the visitors center

o   We need to encourage members to invite new residents as they move into the community.  So don't forget to ask your new neighbor to join you at one of our meetings!

·         We have a number of members that work either full time or part time 34%

o   We have an opportunity to schedule some events in the late afternoon or evening (Coffees/Wine events) and we are in the process of planning some of these events.

·         Most of our member join (47%) for social networking.

o   We need to continue to make our programs interactive and schedule more interactive events (Coffees etc.)

·         Our programs continue to be a draw and we need to keep them educational, interactive and fun.  Girls just want to have fun.

·         Many women indicated that they would love to see an event that includes spouses.

o   The Social Committee is looking into an annual event that would include our significant others.

·         Community Outreach/Projects are important to our members (70% rated as very important).

o   Brenda Cosse had agreed to be the Board Chair for Community Outreach and will be working with a committee to provide a process for evaluating potential additional Outreach Projects.
