The Helen Wolfe Scholarship

The Sedona Women awards up to three $2,500 annual scholarships in honor of our founder, Helen Wolfe.  Scholarships are awarded (in April) to women who are re-entering students whose education has been interrupted or to students who are planning to resume their education.  Eligibility requirements include acceptance at an accredited vocational or academic institution.

Continuing scholarships for 2010/2011 have already been committed to existing recipients. However, upon their graduation, scholarships will become available for teh 2011/2012 school year.

Thank you for your interest in The Helen Wolfe Scholarship. Your support makes our multiple scholarships possible.

We welcome your time, emotional support of these recipients, or a check payable to The Sedona Women.  Please mail to our PO BOX and designate it for Scholarships.

"There is no such thing as a 'self-made' man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts. -George Matthew Adams, Newspaper Columnist  (Aug 23, 1878 - Oct 29, 1962)"

Below are thank you notes from our most recent recipients

"Please express my sincere gratitude to the Sedona women for selecting me as the recipient of the 2009 Helen Wolfe Scholarship.  This scholarship will help me immensely in achieving my academic goals during the upcoming school year.  The generosity of the Sedona Women is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten!"

Sincerely, Dana

"I just wanted to send you this note to thank you for once again awarding me with your scholarship. Your generous and unstinting support, not only financially but emotionally as well, has been one of the main factors in inspiring me to continue to pursue my ambitions and excel in my studies. This will be my last year of classes and I hope to graduate this May with honors with a Master’s degree in European History, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies. At the end of this year I am hoping to either continue my studies abroad, possibly working towards a Ph.D. in Scotland, or else begin to immediately teach Women’s Studies at the college level. I want you to know that none of this would have been possible without your help, your encouragement, and your heartfelt support. It is constantly amazing to me to witness the joy you take in helping others, and hearing about our progress. I hope to one day be able to give back to my community what you have given to me. Thank you again, for everything."
