Program Committee  

The Program Committee is ideal for women who are creative, inquisitive and fun loving.  Its mission is to decide on nine or ten inspiring, thoughtful, interactive, informative and fun programs for the upcoming year.  It is comprised of five to ten members including a Chair or Co-chairs.  

The Committee meets once a month at a regularly scheduled time.  The program calendar runs from September thru May.  However, the Committee begins meeting in January to start their planning.  At these meetings, all members of the Committee share their ideas for programs for the upcoming year.  As a group they decide which programs they will present to the Board of Directors for approval in April.  

After a slate of programs has been approved, by the Board, the fun begins!  The Committee finds a person or persons from the general membership to head up each program.  Often one of the Program Committee members will want to team lead one of the programs because she either presented it or finds it to be of personal interest to her.  The team leader for a program puts together her own team to create and execute the program.  Each program will have a member of the Program Committee as a liaison.  The liaison is a support person and will bring any concerns, problems or needs back to the Program Committee or to the Board if necessary.  Through the liaison, the  Program Committee monitors all programs to assure a successful and smooth execution of the program.  

Becoming a member of the Program Committee is one of the best ways to meet and get to know other women.  In addition to being of tremendous fun and a use of your creative juices, it is a terrific way to bring your passions and interests to all The Sedona Women.

Social Committee  

The Social Committee makes arrangements for two catered luncheons for the general membership and a yearly (December) party for the former, current, and newly-elected board members. 

Committee members secure hostesses and organize the traditional member-hosted luncheons that follow the February general meeting. 

The Social Committee may also plan other events during the course of the year. In response to the 2011-12 TSW survey, this may be an annual or biennial event to include men as guests. |

Membership Committee  

The Membership Committee facilitates both new memberships as well as renewals. The Committee is responsible for staffing the Membership Table as monthly meetings where information and forms are available for new members to join, returning members to renew their membership and guests to register for the meeting.  The Committee chair writes a welcome letter to all new members and guests.  The Committee maintains a file of current membership forms and coordinates with the Treasurer the gathering of membership information for the Annual TSW Directory and supplement.  The Committee oversees the dispensing of the Directories at Membership Meetings. The Committee also sends information to the other Committee Chairs relative to members who have expressed interest in serving on their committees.  Additionally, the Committee is responsible for overseeing and sending the Annual Membership Mailing in August of each year.

Community Outreach  

Community Outreach is a wonderful part of Sedona Women's mission, and over the years we have accomplished an impressive list of Projects( please see the Community Outreach page).  

The Community Outreach Committee is a small group of 3-4 , made up of at least 1 Board member.  This committee is responsible for vetting project ideas which are submitted by the membership.  If a proposed Project meets the requirements of 1) meeting a significant community need and 2) presenting an opportunity for our members to develop friendships, the committee will take the Project to the Board for approval,  The committee also makes sure a Project is financially feasible, and works with the Board and the Project team if financing is necessary.  

Because ALL Projects are initiated by our membership, this committee is responsible for encouraging the women to become involved with and to create Projects.  It does this by speaking at the general meetings, creating articles in the newsletter and the Outreach page on our website, and by meeting with members who have indicated an interest in Projects on their membership form. 

It's a fun committee, because it's small and you really get to know each other. And being a part of helping a Project go forward  to completion and really making a difference is a great, great feeling!

The Welcoming Committee

The Welcoming Committee is the first contact to greet members and guests at The Sedona Women monthly program meetings.  What better way meet and get to know other fabulous members. Members are assisted in finding their name badge.  Welcoming works closely with The Membership Committee to direct guests to register and those wishing to join as a new member.  Name badges are ordered for new members and kept up-to-date.  

There are a number of ways the Welcoming Committee is helping to help new members feel welcome and connected to the existing membership. 

1) Hearts are being placed on Name Badges of new members to indicate to existing members that they are new, and to be sure to welcome them to the group. 

2) New Member luncheons in November and March have recently been initiated to invite new members to meet each other and to meet Board Members. 

3) Welcoming Committee members will be invited to attend the New Member luncheons to connect with a new member and offer assistance throughout the year.
