Thanks to the 13 volunteers who are helping Manzanita Outreach Sort Donated Children’s Books
Thanks to Diane Troianello for leading this project with Manzanita Outreach on March 30. Manzanita Outreach was given about 2000 books which needed to be sorted by age groups so they can be given out to children when the families go go through the weekly food sharing line there.
St. Andrews Community Dinner Served 57!
Sedona Women volunteers lead by Marilyn Bealafeld, hosted the St Andrew’s Community Dinner Monday, January 16. The dinners were served “in person” in the church hall for anyone who wants a dinner. Nine Sedona Women, Mark Bealafeld and Kevin Cook, volunteered to set up and clean the hall, prepare and serve the food to the clients, and clean up. Thanks to all who made this dinner possible for those in need in our community.
THANK YOU for all the diapers and wipes!
At our January 11th meeting, members donated 1,904 diapers and 26 packages of baby wipes for the Sedona Community Food Bank. This generous contribution enables the SedonaCommunity Food Bank to provide these essential items to families in need.
If you could not make it to the meeting and would like to contribute, please drop diapers and wipe off at the Sedona Community Food Bank, 680 Sunset Drive, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 11:00. THANK YOU.
Sedona Women Make a BIG difference in our community
Thank you, Sedona Women volunteers who filled all the Sedona Community Food Bank See’s Candy Wagon shifts December (as well as November). These women volunteered selling delicious See's Candies in the Bashas' Shopping Center.
Our Sedona Women volunteers helped Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition (VVCC) deliver donated gifts to their seniors (called 'Neighbors') living in the Verde Valley. Sedona Women volunteers picked up the gifts for those Neighbors living in a particular area of Sedona and delivered them before the 25th. In some cases, these gifts were the only ones these seniors receive during the Holidays.
Old Town Mission Great Turkey Giveaway
Eighteen Sedona Women and family members had a great time helping distribute turkeys and all the fixings at the Old Town Mission Great Turkey Giveaway on November 22nd. A non-stop stream of shoppers filled grocery carts with pies, fresh vegetables, turkeys, rolls and side dishes. The Sedona Women helped the shoppers and restocked the food as it quickly disappeared. The Mission served 446 families that day, all of them assisted by members of the Sedona Women. A wonderful way to kick off the holiday season by helping those in need have a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for your Donations!
A big heartfelt thank you to all of our members who donated new and gently used coats, jackets, sleeping bags and tents for Sedona Area Homeless Alliance. The warmth of your generous hearts will keep the recipients warm this winter.
Oak Creek Cleanup a Success! (See more photo's here)
Early on Saturday morning, October 15, 18 Sedona Women volunteers met Oak Creek Watershed leaders and Rotary volunteers at the Baldwin trailhead in the Village of Oak Creek. We spent the morning cleaning up the creek banks and adjacent trail – picking up 52.9 pounds of trash! Thanks in particular to the Oak Creek Watershed Council that provided buckets, vests, pickers and leadership.
Blanket Bee Completed! (See more photos here!)
Moments when friends get together to help our community are special. Thanks to the leadership of Kathy Karlic and Loris Benson, on October 13, Sedona Women finished our project to tie 40 warm, fleecy blankets for The Old Town Mission in Cottonwood! Thanks to the women in the pictures as well as Diane Troianello, Peggy Harris, Pam Hoover and Ellen Ferreira who finished the blankets at their homes.
Manzanita Outreach!
7 Sedona Women (and 1 husband) along with 3 members from Sedona Kind spent 3 hours at Manzanita Outreach in Cottonwood, packing healthy snack boxes that will be distributed to teachers throughout the Verde Valley for their classrooms. Another fun and rewarding experience working with Manzanita Outreach!
St. Andrew's Community Dinner
Twelve Sedona Women volunteers and spouses prepared and distributed 50 fabulous meals as part of the St. Andrew's Community Dinner September 26. Recipients drive, bike, or walk through our pick-up line to receive a home cooked meal. This is a great opportunity for TSW members to serve our community and socialize with fellow members. Sedona Community Food Bank
Thank you to all Sedona Women who brought much needed food items to the September meeting. Many local families and fixed income seniors are struggling with hunger, with this year’s food inflation of 10-11% making it difficult to meet their daily needs. Thanks to all who donated, the Food Bank received 128 pounds of needed food products! Thank you all.
