9/11/25           Rafting the Grand Canyon — Jan Taylor has boated through the Grand Canyon 21 times and served on the Board of the Grand Canyon River Runners Association for many years. Her talk will cover a little history of Grand Canyon river running, will touch on the geology, and will talk about the adventure and variety of river trips available and their costs. Finally, there will be a slide show of photos of incredible Grand Canyon sites that can’t be seen from the rim.

10/9/25           Cyber Safety and Fraud Protection — Understanding the importance of safeguarding your personal information using proactive strategies to help you secure your digital footprint, protect your assets, and reduce your overall risk of fraud is essential for you and your family in today’s environment. Justin Nichols, a fraud detective, will provide information to make us aware of and deal better with cyber fraud.

11/13/25         Native American Heritage of the Verde Valley — November is National American Indian Heritage Month. Thomasene Cardona, Camp Verde Yavapai Nation member and advocate, will discuss the newly launched Yavapai Land and Cultural Collective project, a community-led initiative dedicated to restoring and strengthening traditional Yavapai food systems. 

12/11/25        Celebrate the Holidays Sustainably — Celebrate the holidays with a sing-along, seasonal treats, and a sustainable gift exchange. 

1/8/26             The Sedona Story —  TSW member and noted author, historian, lecturer, and longtime Arizona resident Victoria Clark will give an engaging overview of the history of our area.

2/12/26           Women's Health Issues — This panel of noted physicians will discuss three specific health concerns of importance to women: Dr. Anna Burke, M.D., Director of the Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Division and the Director of Neuropsychiatry at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, will help us understand the cognitive changes that are observed with dementia and how these differ from changes experienced with normal aging. In addition, she will discuss the risk factors for dementia and the preventive measures women should be aware of. Dr. Beth DuPree, M.D., is board-certified in general surgery and integrative and holistic medicine with 38 years of experience and is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in the surgical care and management of breast cancer. She will discuss breast cancer prevention and how early detection save lives. Dr. Deirdre Donaghy, M.D., a board certified physician in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology, will help us to understand the silent signals — the early signs of cardiac disease in women and how they differ from those in men. In addition, she will discuss the most important preventive strategies for women to avoid cardiac disease.

3/12/26           The Impact of Brilliant Women on History — Local author Joan Fernandez will discuss the contributions of exceptional women throughout history. Her short story, "The Parisian Daughter," about a young socialite who struggles to please her influential father in the face of ugly truth, appears in the book Feisty Deeds: Historical Fictions of Daring Women.

4/9/26             A Day Just For Me: Exploring Flagstaff 

5/14/26           Get Ready for The Great Wealth Transfer — Over the course of the next decade, trillions of dollars of wealth will land in the hands of women. Kathy Karlic, founder of Suddenly You and one of our members, will highlight some implications for estate planning, investing, and family conversations.
